The Takers

They pull, they snatch, they grasp and grope,
She’s lost all scope, she’s lost all hope.
Sinking deeper towards the depths of despair
She’s lost in the confused emotions there.

A heart once whole now torn in two,
She knows not what she knows not who.
A heart which was not meant to give
Yet pull and snatch and grasp they did.

Entwined emotions, foreign lands
Her life a nightmare she can't stand
They may not have meant the harm they caused
Yet her heart has reached a deathly pause.

She knows not what she knows not who.
But she knows 'twas not what they meant to do
A wondering heart, a wondering soul,
Caught in a trap, no longer whole.
